Making healthy choices throughout the holiday season is challenging.
It’s October and the holiday season is just around the corner. Holidays are a busy time of giving, spending time with family, and celebrating with friends. We are confronted with parties, tempting foods, and opportunities to eat too much, not to mention drink up that extra cocktail.
Making commitments to yourself and keeping them always lead to positive results.
If you make a commitment today to take care of yourself NOW, you will better serve your community throughout the holiday season and into the new year.
If you don’t take care of yourself, your immune system doesn’t function properly.
Then, more colds, more flu, more run-down, more negative effects of holiday stress .
Take time today, and write down what you’d like to see for the holidays.
Then write down how you will specifically take care yourself this year. Here are some questions to get you started:
What kind of healthy snacks can you prepare to keep you from eating too much junk?
Which exercise routine will be easy for you to keep up?
Should you find work-out accountability partners?
What’s most important to YOU this holiday season? Say, “No,” to everything else.
The original intent of the holidays was to take a break. Instead, we speed up and live on junk fuel. Maybe it’s time to rethink how you do the holidays, and choose sanity and health.
Yours in Self-Care,
